Established in 19__, the Sargeant Bay Society (SBS) is an organization passionate about supporting, enhancing and protecting the ecologically sensitive habitats found within Sargeant Bay Provincial Park, its watershed and neighbouring wetlands.

The SBS is comprised of a ten-member volunteer board of directors.  The Board is supported by an active group of members who support the Mission of the Society by regularly participating in projects and activities, aimed at enhancing Sargeant Bay Provincial Park and associated activities.

Sargeant Bay Provincial Park offers a remarkable diversity of recreation, combining nature appreciation with an unforgettable physical outdoor experience.  It includes a sand and gravel beach, a wetland, a salmon-bearing creek, forest, a pristine forest bog and multi-use connecting trails.

When the park was created in 1990, it was 57 ha in size.  In 1997 the park expanded to 142 ha.  In 2018, the SBS became stewards of the wetland habitat located at Smuggler’s Cove Marine Park, 16 km west of Sechelt, British Columbia.
