2025 Activities
October 21: Berm and Beach Cleanup at the Park
The annual fall berm and beach cleanup ran from 9 am to noon. It was organized by the Sargeant Bay Society and the Sargeant Bay Streamkeepers. We had already had a few Pink and Coho salmon arrive in the fish ladder and welcome additional volunteers to help our Streamkeeper group monitor salmon from mid October until December.

August 9: Intertidal Exploration with Lee-Ann Ennis and Critter Dipping with Dr. Donna Giberson
Guests were invited to search the sands, seaweeds and rocky outcrops for marine invertebrates, fish, sea stars and other creatures, and to bring them up to the wet tanks for LeeAnn to identify before returning them to their home.
Following on last year’s successful introduction to the freshwater microscopic world, Donna once again brought her field microscopes so we could examine samples of the freshwater environment found in the wetland and lake behind the berm. Donna is Professor Emerita in entomology and freshwater ecology from the U. of PEI.
